The IPL 2026 playoff race has reached a dramatic stage with no team officially qualified after 59 league matches. However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans are now just one victory away from sealing their playoff spots.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals are fighting to keep their campaigns alive as every remaining match begins to feel like a knockout game.

With Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants already eliminated, the battle for the final four spots has become one of the most intense finishes in recent IPL history.

RCB Close to Playoff Qualification

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have placed themselves in a powerful position after dominating at home throughout IPL 2026.

RCB currently sit at the top of the table with 16 points and the best Net Run Rate among all teams. One more win from their remaining matches against PBKS and SRH will almost certainly confirm playoff qualification.

If Bengaluru reach 20 points, they will guarantee a top-two finish.

Virat Kohli’s return to form and RCB’s improved bowling attack have completely transformed the franchise this season.

Gujarat Titans Becoming Serious Title Favorites

Gujarat Titans are also one victory away from playoff qualification after winning five matches in a row.

GT face KKR and CSK in their remaining league games and could become the first officially qualified team if they defeat Kolkata Knight Riders.

The bowling unit led by Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj and Rashid Khan has made Gujarat one of the most dangerous teams in IPL 2026.

A finish inside the top two now looks very realistic for Shubman Gill’s side.

SRH Hold Strong Position

Sunrisers Hyderabad remain in a strong playoff position with 14 points from 12 matches.

Two wins from their remaining clashes against CSK and RCB will guarantee qualification. However, even one win could still be enough depending on other results.

SRH’s aggressive batting approach has made them one of the most entertaining teams this season.

PBKS Still Fighting Despite Collapse

Punjab Kings have experienced one of the strangest campaigns in IPL 2026.

After starting the season brilliantly, PBKS suddenly suffered five consecutive defeats and dropped into the middle of the points table battle.

Despite the collapse, Punjab can still qualify comfortably if they win their remaining matches against RCB and LSG.

The team’s playoff hopes are still alive, but pressure is now increasing rapidly.

Rajasthan Royals Quietly Dangerous

Rajasthan Royals may currently sit outside the top four, but they arguably hold one of the easiest remaining schedules.

RR still have matches left against DC, LSG and MI — all teams struggling badly or already eliminated. Three wins would push Rajasthan to 18 points and guarantee qualification.

Their Net Run Rate could also become extremely important if multiple teams finish tied on points.

CSK in Massive Trouble

Chennai Super Kings suffered a huge setback after losing to Lucknow Super Giants.

That defeat damaged CSK’s Net Run Rate and pushed them down to sixth position. More importantly, Chennai no longer fully control their own playoff destiny.

Even if CSK win their remaining games against SRH and GT, they could still depend on other results going in their favor.

MS Dhoni’s continued injury absence and Jamie Overton’s exit have made Chennai’s situation even more difficult.

KKR Need a Miracle

Kolkata Knight Riders remain mathematically alive but face enormous pressure.

KKR can only reach a maximum of 15 points and must win all three remaining home matches against GT, MI and DC to stay alive.

Even then, Kolkata will still need favorable results from other teams.

The margin for error has completely disappeared for KKR.

Delhi Capitals Hanging by a Thread

Delhi Capitals face the toughest qualification path among all remaining contenders.

DC must win both their remaining matches and also hope multiple other results go their way. Their terrible Net Run Rate of -0.993 has placed them in a dangerous position if qualification comes down to NRR.

At this stage, Delhi’s playoff hopes look extremely slim.

IPL 2026 Playoff Race Set for Dramatic Finish

RCB and GT are almost through.
CSK and KKR are fighting for survival.
And teams like PBKS, RR and SRH still have everything to play for.

The next few matches could completely change the playoff picture once again.
